A child's natural instinct of curiosity leads them down a path towards higher knowledge and wonder. The toddler room serves as a home away from home for children ages 12 months to 36 months. Our classrooms are designed to meet the independent and curious nature of a toddler, allowing them to explore in a beautiful and carefully prepared environment freely. Under the careful guidance of our certified teachers, our children engage in practical life pursuits, such as:

Strengthening Language Skills

 

Our curriculum caters to all aspects of language development in early childhood. Through active participation, our students use all of their senses to build listening skills and follow directions. These attributes will help the students understand receptive and expressive language.

Refining Gross and Fine Motor Skills

Developing motor control is an important milestone in child development. Gross motor skills refer to large body movements such as sitting up, crawling, or walking. Fine motor skills refer to smaller, more precise movements, such as holding a crayon or using scissors. Through various activities, our teachers provide the students with the opportunity to enhance these skills.

 

Developing Independence and Confidence

The journey to independence isn’t an easy one; however, our certified teaching staff is specially trained to help your child tackle it. Independence is an important attribute in the development of children. At Small World Montessori, we build your child’s independence and confidence through our Montessori curriculum. We provide toilet training for our toddlers, which allows our youngest learners to gain poise and individuality.
